The 2024 Taiyuan Marathon kicked off on the morning of September 22 in the capital city of northern China's Shanxi Province. Some 40,000 runners from home and abroad took part in the event, which is a record for this city. The marathon route passes through many renowned venues in the city, with some historical sites along the stretch.
